In my Interactive Multimedia 3 course, we were tasked with designing an app prototype on Figma from pre-generated prompts from Sharpen. Over the course of the semester, we followed the steps of the design process in order to create the app. We progressed through research, persona development, and prototyping. We were also asked to create a business scenario and brand style guide for our fictitious client.
This case study project centered on crafting an interactive mobile app for Apex Predator Complex, a specialized fitness center for big game hunters in Montana. The focus was on creating a nutrition-tracking app tailored to their dietary needs and performance optimization. Through user-centered design, the project progressed through stages like research, persona development, and prototyping. Research delved into existing fitness/hunting apps, big game hunters' diets, and preferences. User personas and needs were identified. Visualizations, including user journey maps and wireframes, illustrated the seamless integration of nutrition tracking and performance optimization. Features included scheduling training appointments, tracking nutrition/macros, tailored workouts, and hunting season preparation. The result: an interactive Figma prototype showcasing the app's functionality and UI design.
