For this project, we were tasked with creating illustrations based upon our own emotions with typography being the main foundation for the design. We used Adobe Illustrator to create each element. Once the illustrations were completed, we turned them into a collection of t-shirts to create "The Emotion Collection".
On a lighter note, this illustration was inspired by my two fur children, Booky (boo-key) and Bear. I love them so much, which is why I wanted both of them to be the focal point. My dog Bear always sits looking out the window with one of his legs to the side, so this inspired the L shape. The O was inspired by a collar tag, while the V is both of them holding paws. My cat Booky loves to lay down and this is typically my view of him when I'm standing over him, which inspired the E.
For this illustration, I want to capture the terrifying feeling of falling, yet also show that there's hope waiting at the end. My fear is to fall into an unknown area mentally. That feeling of hopelessness can be very scary if you forget about the grey areas in life. The hope hand is a reminder that sometimes when you feel like there is no way out, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The t-shirt was inspired by national parks and hiking, which always makes me happy when I'm feeling down.
